Use Private Events

Applies to: ChurchArt Pro Calendar Feature   

If this feature is grayed out, you will need to first create a password. Then you can checkmark any events as Private when creating or editing the event.

Create or Change the Password for Private Events

From the home page dashboard, click on Private Events Settings. 

1. Follow the instructions to enter a Private Events password. If you are changing your password, you will need to enter your current password first.  (If you've forgotten your password, click the link to have your password e-mailed to the administrator.) 

2. Click the Save Changes button to save the password that you entered.

3. Here, you can also change the name of your private events calendar if you wish.  

4. Be sure to document and distribute your password to staff and/or members of your church who are authorized to view private events.

What happens if you forget your Private Events password?

1. If you do not remember your current Private Events password, click on the link to have your current password sent (highlighted in yellow - see screenshot below). The current password will be emailed to the administrative email on the account. 

2. Once received, enter your current (old) Private Events password. Create a new password and confirm.

3. Click Save Changes

Making an event private

  1. Create a password for Private Events, if you haven’t yet.
  2. Create a new calendar event or edit an existing event that you wish to make private and check the Private - hide event from public view checkbox under the Event Title. NOTE: If the Private - hide event from public view option is grayed out, you haven’t created a Private Events password and will need to go back to the steps above: Create or Change a Private Events Password

3. Save your event.

4. A padlock icon will appear next to your event to indicate it is a Private Event.

Login to Private events

1. In  Preview Calendar mode, click the  Padlock symbol in the upper right-hand corner of the page. 

2. Enter the Private Events password. Click  Unlock

3. You can choose to re-lock the private events by simply clicking the padlock button again.
